It was a night to remember as Edgewater Woodvale Junior Football Club was officially recognised and received our Foundation Member certificate at the WA Football awards ceremony – achieving the first level of the Champion Club Program as one of the first 50 inaugural Foundation Members out of more than 450 clubs across Western Australia.
What an incredible evening it was! EWJFC was formally honoured at the awards night, receiving our Foundation Level Status certificate – the entry level of WA Football’s Champion Club Program. This moment represents the culmination of months of hard work and dedication by our committee, and officially places us among the elite clubs in Western Australia.
From Application to Recognition
The journey to this special moment began when we submitted our application for the Champion Club Program. The program, launched by WA Football in Season 2025, has Foundation Level as its entry point, requiring clubs to demonstrate excellence across three critical areas: effective club administration and management, risk management and compliance, and club culture and environment.
After months of preparing documentation and showcasing our club processes and procedures, the hard work of our committee has culminated in this wonderful recognition ceremony. Standing among WA’s football community at the awards night, receiving our Foundation Level certificate, was truly a proud moment for everyone associated with EWJFC.
Small Club, Big Achievements
This recognition proves that size doesn’t determine success – small clubs can indeed achieve big things when they have the right vision, commitment, and community support. EWJFC’s Foundation Member status showcases the strength of our club culture and the dedication of our volunteers, players, and families.
Looking Ahead
While we celebrate this milestone, our ambitions don’t stop here. Having achieved Foundation Level status – the first level of the Champion Club Program – our next goal is to strive for Premiership Club recognition, the highest level of the program. This continued pursuit of excellence will further establish EWJFC as the club of choice for current and future players in our community.

This recognition belongs to everyone who contributes to making EWJFC the special place it is – from our hardworking committee members and coaches to our dedicated parents and enthusiastic players. Receiving the certificate in front of the WA football community was a moment that truly showcased what can be accomplished when a community comes together with a shared vision of excellence.
As we look toward the future, this Foundation Member status serves as both recognition of our past achievements and motivation to continue raising the bar for junior football in Western Australia.
